Casablanca weather is rather mild semi-arid Mediterranean, heat being the prevailing factor. However, despite being situated well within the semi-arid zone, thanks to the strong influence it receives from the cool currents of the Atlantic Ocean, Casablanca weather is remarkably mild and is characterized by a distinctive lack of great temperature fluctuation between seasons. Being a coastal town on the shores of the Atlantic, weather in Casablanca remains largely free of any extreme climate conditions, experiencing neither great heat nor extreme cold.
However, the winter season in Casablanca experiences its fair share of cold weather, which is often followed by rainfall. Recent climate changes noticeable around the globe have left an indelible impression on Casablanca weather, with the city now suffering from increased levels of pollution while there has also been a slip in its ozone layer.
The wet season commences in November and runs through to March, although only occasionally do rainfalls break the pattern of otherwise dry but cold days. Between December and February, Casablanca weather is at its coolest, with daily temperatures only occasionally rising higher than 16°C. During the same period evening and night temperatures take a slight dip, dropping to 12°C or 13°C. Despite the cool sense that lingers on in the air, the winter months are also under the spell of high humidity levels.
The hottest months of the calendar are by far those of the summer season, which lasts between July and September. Since the climate is dried out, humidity is so low it’s almost considered non-existent and the weather becomes pleasingly mild and hospitable. By nigh atime temperature levels decrease considerably, becoming cooler and in the process make sleeping a lot more comfortable. It should also be noted that while summer is definitely not the most pleasant period weather wise, the numbers of overseas visitors to the area are at their absolute peak.
Best times to visit
If visiting Casablanca ranks high in your to-do list, then it’s perhaps wiser – and certainly advisable – to consider doing so between October to May, when Casablanca weather is at its best, especially either in April or May when spring, although late by Europeans standards, finally makes it grant appearance. However because of the nature of Casablanca weather any time of the year is considered to be a good time to visit the city.
